Wednesday Keynote (John Chambers)

John Chambers is a bit of a full on guy and I would liken him to an intelligent car salesman, a very good car salesman, but a car salesman nonetheless.

He did deliver the most exciting and occasionally humorous keynote to date. It was very sales level orientated and not particularly technical so I wasn’t that interested until they showed vFrame in action. (more…)

FalconStor Virtual Storage

Firstly let me say, that I find the Storage Virtualisation vendors very confusing. I understand the technology and am very keen to start implementing it where appropriate. However, I cannot get a straight answer from any of them on where their competitive advantages are.

What I mean is, they all say “we can do this and they can’t” despite the fact that the “they”, they are talking about told me 2 minutes previously that they can. Clear as mud? Exactly! (more…)
