VMworld Sessions

Finally, all the VMworld session material can now be found on the VMworld website.

It has been decided that this website will be a permanent feature and not only when the event is active.

This is great news, because it means that the sessions will be available all year round.

If you are irritated by the feature oversight in VMware Converter that bugs me the most then I have a solution document for you attached.

I hate the way that you cannot create multiple VMDK disks when a source machine has a single disk with multiple logical partitions. There are a number of long winded ways to get round this, but here’s mine.

ESX 3.5 Release and Prices

According to virtualization.info ESX 3.5 is due to be released in December this year. Lots of the rumoured functionality seems to be in tact and there is going to be an all new ESX structure. (more…)

DataCore Speed Boost

I haven’t posted for a while as I have been revising for the VMware Certification, now it is over, I’m back to business.

DataCore, the storage virtualisation vendors, have just announced massive improvements to the data acceleration product, UpTempo.

Uptempo speeds up the likes of SQL, Exchange etc, using caching algorithms amongst other things.
