FalconStor Virtual Storage

Firstly let me say, that I find the Storage Virtualisation vendors very confusing. I understand the technology and am very keen to start implementing it where appropriate. However, I cannot get a straight answer from any of them on where their competitive advantages are.

What I mean is, they all say “we can do this and they can’t” despite the fact that the “they”, they are talking about told me 2 minutes previously that they can. Clear as mud? Exactly! (more…)

Paranoid Android

All I want to say here is, you have got to love a city where a street band are playing a note perfect acoustic rendition of Paranoid Android. Not only that, but it is so loud you can hear the drums 3 blocks away.

Acronis

I got talking to an Alliance Representative at Acronis today and I mentioned that I use their software at home. He seemed quite pleased that he had met someone that had first hand experience of their software.

They seem to be looking for ways into the Virtualisation market and are looking to seriously compete with the likes of DoubleTake and Vizioncore. (more…)
